- People often consider the talent of geniuses to be a mix of genes (nature, something that we’re born with) and our environment (nurture). For e.g. Brazil produces a lot of amazing footballers and it is often attributed to the climate, a passion for the game and a lot of genetically diverse people who are often poor and hence, have the hunger to succeed. However, such explanations based purely on nature and nurture tend to break down easily as there are many other examples of populations matching the same descriptors but not materializing into geniuses. Plus, Brazil wasn’t always a producer of football greats. So, it can’t be nature and nurture alone.
